Hog Roast Ballasalla recently catered Sandy’s private party at home, where he celebrated a promotion with twenty of his close friends and work colleagues. Sandy has hired us before now, so he knows that we provide gorgeous food and service that’s hard to beat, and for this special occasion, he wanted to treat his guests to our scrumptious pigs in buns, made from a traditional hog roast that would take us several hours to cook in his back garden.

However, when booking us in, Sandy also asked us to provide a suitable option for a vegan guest, and he decided on our veggie skewers, vegan-style. When we usually make these delicious kebabs, we grill halloumi and various vegetables and serve with pitta bread and a Tzatziki dip, but for vegans, we leave out the cheese and ensure that the dip is suitable, so we use a non-dairy yogurt to make it. We’ve always been highly adaptable here at Hog Roast Ballasalla, as we want everyone to be able to enjoy our food, regardless of diet or taste, so modifying a recipe is often a possibility if needed.

On the afternoon of Sandy’s party, our chef and catering assistant headed to his home and set up our gazebo, serving table and trusty hog roast machine in the back yard and cracked on with preparing the meat to be roasted. We had a small pig to feed most of the carnivores and though compact in size, it still takes hours to perfectly cook it.

By 5pm, Sandy’s guests had arrived to the amazing smells of our hog roast and we had plenty of yummy pigs in buns and some tasty skewers ready to be devoured.
