With all the lovely weather we’ve been having across the UK recently, many people have been making the most of the glorious sunshine by having a traditional picnic in their local park. But before you join them by cramming your own wicker basket full of goodies and grabbing a checkered blanket, Hog Roast Jurby is here to tell you that our succulent meaty feasts are far better than any homemade sandwich or packet of crisps – and our side options and homemade condiments are the icing on the cake!
Just picture yourself biting into a freshly-baked floury roll that is overflowing with juicy pulled pork, a mixture of crispy and soft savoury stuffing pieces and puffed crackling, topped off with a generous drizzling of sweet homemade applesauce. It sounds good, doesn’t it?
So, now that we’ve got your attention, we wanted to tell you all about a hog roast picnic we recently catered for! The event took place over the weekend in celebration of Alisha’s 35th birthday, to which she had invited a small handful of her closest friends and family members. As an outdoors enthusiast and self-confessed foodie, the client was eager to combine both of her passions to create an unforgettable day for both herself and her guests.
With that in mind, the Hog Roast Jurby team were able to create a custom catering package which incorporated several different dishes from a variety of our top menus – and Alisha couldn’t have been happier with the end result!
The day of the event saw Alisha’s nearest and dearest come together at a public BBQ spot where the Hog Roast Jurby team had arrived hours early to prepare a mouth-watering picnic-inspired banquet. The client couldn’t believe her eyes when she arrived at the site to see that our crew had already whipped up the glorious spread which consisted of a cold meat and cheese platter, a mixture of freshly tossed salads, cheese and jalapeno smothered fries along with a BBQ pork butt centrepiece. To follow the main meal, the crew had also prepared a fresh fruit salad topped with cream.
Alisha was so pleased with how smoothly her event was run that she has since recommended the Hog Roast Jurby team to all of her family and friends!
