Even in the cold, dark winter months, we are always busy here at Hog Roast Foxdale, taking bookings for now and the future, hiring out our own range of hog roast machines that we build ourselves and even selling them in person and online too. What we are probably most known for is our fantastic catering service, with dedicated and experienced staff helping customers to celebrate their special occasions or corporate events. Whatever the occasion, a Hog Roast Foxdale can be suitable and in a chilly month like February, it’s food that will warm you up and comfort you too.
For Rosie’s baby shower, held at her parent’s home in the country, she had asked us to provide a Hog Roast Foxdale centrepiece for around 25 guests of family members and close friends. The little one was due in a few short weeks, and Rosie and her partner James wanted to celebrate before the birth. It’s often typical that baby showers are only attended by females but this couple knew that everyone wanted to join in on the happy occasion, so invited all their family and best friends, regardless of gender.
When Rosie spoke to us about the food for the party, she knew she wanted our scrumptious pigs in buns, as she had enjoyed them at past events we had catered, but she also wanted some extra food to be provided. We have so many options to choose from, as you can see from our sample menus online, but we are always happy to add anything else that you can think of where possible, too, or you can create your own bespoke menu yourself if preferred. In Rosie’s case, she just wanted to add some salad leaves and tomatoes, a tub of coleslaw and some baked potatoes for the guests, which was not a problem at all.
On the day of the baby shower, we arrived bright and early to roast the hog for a few hours, and then by lunchtime, all the guests had arrived to the welcoming aromas of our freshly-cooked pork. We got the carving knives ready to slice into this gorgeous beast, as everyone waited with baited breath, some of those guests desperate to dig in!
