If there’s anyone who loves a good old birthday bash, it’s our team here at Hog Roast Jurby! Lucky for us, we are regularly asked to handle these types of celebrations, and just last week we were hired by Sophie and Richard to serve one of our delicious hog roast spreads at their son, Eric’s 18th birthday party! After their initial plans for the special occasion had fallen through, the couple turned to us for help, and as fortune would have it, we had one slot left for Thursday evening which suited their needs perfectly.
With 25 names on the guest list, the clients were in search of a more informal and laid back spread, so for this occasion, the southern slow roast menu seemed like the ideal choice. Heavily inspired by traditional American cuisine, this menu has become 
extremely popular among our younger clients, and Sophie and Richard just knew their son would be a fan too. So, from the variety of dishes on offer, the couple opted for a spread which consisted of BBQ pulled pork butt, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs and creole pulled quarter of spiced lamb, along with a meatless alternative of BBQ pulled jackfruit wraps. In addition to the main course, side options of Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, creamy mac and cheese, seasonal green leaf salad and melted cheese and jalapeno smothered fries were also included on the menu.
Sophie and Richard were so happy to have the additional help from the Hog Roast Jurby catering manager who walked them through every step of their booking and made the entire process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
When it was finally time to celebrate Eric’s first big step into adulthood, the Hog Roast Jurby catering crew arrived at the client’s family home a few hours early to get a head start on preparations for the feast. Using our top of the range cooking equipment, the team effortlessly whipped up the glorious spread which became a huge talking point among the guests who hungrily devoured several helpings of the flavoursome food before being treated to a slice of homemade birthday cake!
