Good Afternoon from Spitting Pig Isle of Man,
What a wonderful weekend we had full of events all themed for Halloween it was definitely a full packed weekend of hog roasting.
On Friday afternoon Spitting Pig Isle of Man and our team traveled to the capital Douglas for an 18th birthday party, this event had been booked in for a good 8 months and she had been planning her party to the smallest detail. We had everything prepared for the night roast; the van was stacked full with the roasting machine, fresh pig and locally sourced salads and potatoes as she choose a menu 1 (pig in a bun) menu. We started roasting the hog as soon as we arrived at the venue, soon after guests started to flood in and the music was booming through the room. When the pig had finished cooking, we started to calve and the guest’s queued up to receive there hot roasted sandwich. The crackling definitely went down quickly as they were asking for more and more! This is an example of how smoothly your event can really go with excellent preparation and great quality, food what more do you really need?
Following the event on Friday, we catered for a small children’s Halloween party, only catering for 30 people so we only had to order a small suckling pig to roast for the adults, while the children loved tucking into the sausage hot dogs. While I was calving the pig all the children gathered around and they were totally amazed when I lifted off the crackling, they thought it was magic! It was a smashing afternoon watching the guests enjoying the traditional food and playing tricks on each other! We were even given a few sweeties from the children to say thank you.
